Role at a glance
We are seeking a Mid-Level Back End Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Kelham Island, Sheffield, where you will be expected to work on-site three days per week. You will be a key contributor to our engineering group, focusing on the backend systems that power our qualitative data analysis tools.
Your impact
- Design and maintain robust backend services that support our innovative, LLM-powered product features.
- Partner closely with our data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate advanced AI models into our production platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to build scalable solutions that solve real customer problems.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for building high-quality systems. We are looking for someone who brings the following:
- At least 2 years of professional experience developing backend services for production environments.
- Practical experience working with Large Language Models or similar machine learning technologies.
- Proficiency in a backend language, with a preference for Go or Python.
- A solid grasp of backend architecture, including APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills in English and a commitment to continuous learning within a collaborative, agile team environment.
