What is this role?

We are searching for a Senior Back-end Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position that offers a high level of ownership over our infrastructure. You will be a key member of our lean engineering group, working directly on the systems that drive our energy marketplace. We value engineers who are comfortable shipping production code daily and who are eager to utilize AI-augmented development practices to build resilient, scalable solutions.

What will you do?

• Design and implement scalable backend services that form the foundation of our marketplace platform.
• Manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform to ensure our systems remain reliable and efficient as we grow.
• Develop robust data pipelines and complex integrations with utility data sources and supplier APIs to support real-time market intelligence.

What makes you a great fit?

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience working with backend systems at scale. We are looking for someone who is highly proficient in Node.js and TypeScript. You should have practical experience managing cloud environments, specifically with GCP, and a strong command of Terraform for infrastructure as code. We also look for candidates who are comfortable working with Postgres, designing clean APIs, and handling asynchronous processing. Since we embrace modern workflows, you should be fluent in using AI coding tools to enhance your productivity. Proficiency in English is required, and a genuine interest in climate tech or marketplace products will certainly help you stand out.
