Back End Engineer at Paytient

The role

We are seeking a Mid-Level Back End Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. This is a remote position available to candidates living anywhere in the continental United States, excluding Montana. You will be an integral part of our high-growth FinTech startup, working alongside designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to develop software that directly improves the lives of our customers.

Core responsibilities

• Work within a multidisciplinary team to design and implement new features that address real-world challenges for our users.
• Take full ownership of your work by participating in deployments, providing ongoing support, and sharing in on-call responsibilities.
• Develop software that is secure, scalable, and performant to ensure our systems continue to deliver meaningful impact as we grow.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for collaborative problem-solving. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Between 2 and 4 years of experience navigating the full product development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Hands-on experience building microservices, SOA, or distributed systems, ideally within a public cloud environment like AWS.
• A history of engaging in technical discussions regarding system design and architecture.
