Our engineering team is currently seeking a Back End Engineer to join us at our New York office. This full-time position provides a unique chance to build scalable, impactful solutions for a rapidly expanding community while working with modern technologies in a collaborative, agile environment.
Key outcomes
- Architect and develop Java Spring web services using gRPC and RESTful patterns, incorporating caching and asynchronous processing.
- Leverage cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Google Cloud solutions like Lambda, DynamoDB, and BigQuery, to maintain high-performance systems.
- Utilize open-source technologies such as Apache Spark and Solr to enhance our platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with our product teams to design features, conduct A/B testing, and drive measurable improvements in our core metrics.
- Utilize big data analytics to refine personalization and recommendation engines for our users.
- Maintain high engineering standards through efficient version control and the use of Kanban methodologies.
Requirements
- Between one and two years of professional experience working with Java.
- A deep-seated passion for software architecture and building robust, scalable solutions.
- The ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks effectively.
- A commitment to team success through thoughtful code reviews and active mentorship.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to contribute to shared libraries and components.
- Intellectual curiosity and the confidence to share your technical perspectives with the team.
Preferred qualifications

- Proficiency with version control systems and project management tools.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $106,000 to $125,000 USD. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes equity compensation, opportunities for professional development, and support for remote work arrangements where applicable.
