Back End Engineer at Bilt Rewards

At Bilt Rewards, we are redefining the rental experience as the first program that allows consumers to earn rewards on their rent and daily neighborhood spending. By partnering with the nation’s largest real estate owners, we enable renters in over three million units to accumulate points that can be used for travel, fitness classes, home decor, or even future down payments. We have also introduced the Bilt Mastercard, which is the only credit card that allows users to pay rent without incurring fees. We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team in New York, NY, and help us continue to disrupt the housing industry.

Key outcomes

• Design, implement, and document back-end services for our mobile application and website.
• Develop microservices using Java and the Quarkus framework.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform services to enhance and scale our application architecture.
• Drive automation initiatives for infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and Head of Product while mentoring junior team members.
• Ensure the reliability, speed, and technical feasibility of our platform integrations.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven expertise in Java development.
• Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform, or similar cloud providers like AWS or Azure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a drive to achieve company goals.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment where processes evolve quickly.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience working within the startup ecosystem.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000. In addition to base salary, you will be eligible for equity and our annual performance-based bonus program. Our benefits package includes:
