We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. At Files.com, we provide a cloud-based managed file transfer platform that helps businesses securely store, share, and move data. We are a profitable, private equity-backed company that leads the industry in revenue per employee, which allows every member of our team to take on significant responsibility and make a real impact. Our engineering culture is entirely remote, though we prioritize building strong connections through regular, in-person team gatherings in cities across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement sophisticated features for our platform, which currently serves over 4,000 business customers and handles hundreds of API requests every second.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Ruby and Ruby on Rails, while leveraging tools like Redis and Elasticsearch to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Collaborate on critical infrastructure projects, such as enhancing our security protocols, optimizing system performance, and building advanced tools for file synchronization and versioning.
Requirements
- Extensive experience working as a Senior Back End Engineer in a professional environment.
- Deep technical proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- A strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system scaling.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a 100% remote team structure.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
