Back-End Developer at Orium

At Orium, we are dedicated to advancing retail data platform engineering and composable commerce solutions. We are currently looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This position is offered in partnership with our sister company, Gluo, based in Mexico. You will collaborate closely with both our internal teams and our partners at Gluo to drive our strategic initiatives forward. Key outcomes

• Maintain and support Order Management Systems and Point of Sale platforms to ensure high availability and operational stability.
• Partner with engineering teams to build and manage the APIs and middleware necessary for efficient data exchange.
• Manage support requests through our ticketing system, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution for all stakeholders.
• Review incident patterns to suggest proactive improvements that prevent recurring technical issues.
• Validate system changes and perform regression testing to confirm that new features align with business goals.
• Contribute technical insights to help refine our retail operations and develop innovative new solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years focused on retail commerce data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python and a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, though familiarity with GCP or Azure is also valued.
• Practical knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems, including experience with queuing and AWS Lambda.
• Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
• A collaborative mindset, a comfort with ambiguity, and an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.

Preferred qualifications

• Direct experience with retail data platforms like POS or OMS and real-time event stream management.
• Background working with headless or microservices-based digital commerce technologies, such as Elastic Path Commerce Cloud, commerce tools, Adyen, NewStore, or Avalara.
