The opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Vice President of Business Intelligence to provide both technical and people leadership for our critical BI systems. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our data visualization and analytics capabilities, ensuring our infrastructure is optimized for performance and security. You will serve as a key partner to business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT leadership, helping to translate complex data into actionable insights that guide our corporate strategy. This is a high-impact position where your expertise in architecture and BI governance will directly influence decision-making at the highest levels of our organization.

A day in the life

• Act as the primary administrator for Tableau Cloud, Alteryx, and SAP Business Objects, managing system frameworks, user access, and security protocols to ensure seamless operations.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, utilizing Infrastructure as Code to automate the deployment of BI services and maintain optimal load balancing.
• Develop complex SQL queries and sophisticated data visualizations, such as scatter plots, geographic maps, and diagnostic dashboards, to provide senior leadership with the insights needed to fuel our company growth.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a deep technical background and a passion for data storytelling. You possess the ability to bridge the gap between complex technical requirements and business objectives. Your background includes:

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in Tableau administration and data management, plus 5 years of experience in both Alteryx and SAP Business Object administration.
• Strong proficiency with AWS technologies, including EC2, ECS, S3, and Redshift.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and query performance tuning within both Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience working within an Agile development framework using tools like JIRA.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
