The Florida Panthers represent a community-focused organization guided by an authentic management team dedicated to serving the South Florida region. Our organization is currently enjoying significant success both on and off the ice, highlighted by our most successful season in franchise history under the leadership of General Manager Bill Zito. As our business continues to grow, we are expanding our reach beyond the Amerant Bank Arena through the renovation of the FTL War Memorial and Baptist Health IcePlex. This state-of-the-art facility will feature dual regulation-size rinks, a new practice facility, and a 4,000-capacity music theatre. We are looking for a dedicated A/V Technician to join our IT department on a part-time basis to support our dynamic event environment.
Key outcomes
- Manage the setup and breakdown of audio and video equipment for hockey games, concerts, basketball games, and various private functions.
- Operate and maintain sound systems for meetings, press conferences, and live events.
- Oversee wireless microphone systems, including the management of handheld and lavalier units.
- Operate hockey scoring systems, OES controllers, goal lights, and basketball shot clocks.
- Configure IMAG setups, projectors, and screens while coordinating with internal and external clients.
- Support gameday camera operations, manage ClearCom intercom systems, and maintain arena display monitors.
- Provide technical support for major partners such as the NHL, ESPN, and Bally’s.
- Guide and train other part-time staff members to ensure high-quality event execution.
- Maintain the flexibility to work across our various properties as needed.
Requirements
- A strong grasp of audio signal flow within professional sound systems.
- Proficiency in cable management, equipment organization, and labeling.
- Practical experience with tools, drills, mounting hardware, and cable construction.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and ladders for installation projects.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical setup instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience with Dante, Crestron, or Q-SYS systems.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Approximately two years of experience in the telecommunications field.
