We serve as a vibrant cultural hub for the Bay Area, driven by the belief that art connects us and inspires our daily lives. Our team is guided by values of inclusivity, passion, bravery, and empathy, and we strive to create an environment where every voice is heard and every individual is appreciated for their unique perspective. We are currently looking for an AV Technician I to join us on an on-call basis to help support our dynamic range of multimedia programming.
What you'll be doing
- You will provide essential technical support for our various event and performance spaces, including the Wattis Theater, the White Box, and the Koret Education Center.
- You will handle the physical setup and teardown of equipment for lectures, films, and special events, while ensuring all technology is configured correctly and tested for compatibility.
- You will monitor the load-in and load-out processes for vendors to ensure they remain in compliance with our museum policies and safety protocols.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a solid foundation in media systems and production technology. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:
- Experience operating and troubleshooting AV equipment, including sound and lighting systems for live performances.
- A strong interest in or working knowledge of digital mixers and videography.
- Technical proficiency with standard office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with experience using scheduling platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to interpret technical schematics or floor plans.
- The physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to remain calm and organized while working under pressure in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
As a member of our on-call team, you will have the opportunity to work in a world-class cultural institution located in the heart of San Francisco. While this is an on-call position, you will gain valuable experience working alongside senior technicians and diverse teams in a high-profile environment. We are committed to fostering a workplace that values your professional growth and respects your contributions to our mission.
