We are on a mission to end soul-destroying traffic by building an underground network of high-speed tunnels. By focusing on technology that increases tunneling speed while slashing costs, we are working to make Hyperloop a reality and transform transit in the world's most crowded cities. If you are ready to build the command and control systems that power our massive tunnel boring machines, we want you on our team.
Role at a glance
We are looking for a Senior Automation Control Software Engineer to join us for a full-time, on-site position in the United States. You will be a key part of our engineering team, helping us push the boundaries of what is possible in mechanical and electrical control systems.

- Architect, build, and deploy software for PLCs that manage the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of our tunnel boring machines.
- Develop intuitive user interfaces and provide direct support to our operators throughout the mining process.
- Prioritize safety by implementing robust lockouts and critical alerting mechanisms to protect our operations.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should be fluent in English and possess a strong foundation in software engineering. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing applications using C or C++.
- Proficiency with modern development workflows, including Git, unit testing, and working within Linux and Windows environments.
- A deep understanding of software fundamentals, including backend infrastructure, code modularity, and maintainability.
- Bonus points if you have experience with mechatronic control systems, safety-critical applications, or specific PLC platforms like Beckhoff, Siemens, or Allen Bradley.
- The flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and travel on short notice up to 20% of the time.
Perks and compensation
We believe in taking care of our people as they tackle these massive engineering challenges. Our benefits package includes:
- Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- A 401(k) retirement plan.
- Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in the success of our mission.
