Are you ready to help us shape the future of virtual fitness and gaming? At Zwift, we are building a massive, cross-platform MMORPG that transforms the way people cycle, run, and train together. We are looking for a passionate Associate Software Engineer to join our team and help us deliver features that make our racing and training experiences even more immersive for our global community.
What you bring
As a junior-level engineer, you will work in a full-time, hybrid capacity to support our core gaming experience across various platforms. You will collaborate with a diverse team of designers, artists, and product managers to build high-quality features that span our backend microservices and our mobile companion applications. Your work will be based in Long Beach or remotely from eligible US locations. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining high-performance code across our game client, backend services, and admin tools.
- Identifying potential technical risks and developing effective strategies to mitigate them.
- Partnering with product managers and fellow engineers to scope, plan, and execute complex projects.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in computer science, typically demonstrated by a BS or MS degree and one to three years of professional software development experience. While we primarily utilize C++ and Java, we value your ability to learn and adapt over specific language mastery. You should have practical experience in areas such as mobile development, cloud-based microservices, event sourcing, or multiplayer gameplay. We also look for a strong commitment to engineering excellence, including experience with automated testing, continuous integration, and production troubleshooting. You should be a tenacious problem solver who is eager to grow within our evolving technical landscape, and familiarity with Kubernetes or containerization is considered a significant plus.
What we offer
We provide a base salary for this position ranging from $70,500 to $110,000, depending on your specific qualifications, skills, and location. Beyond your base pay, we are committed to supporting your well-being and professional growth through a competitive package that includes:
- Flexible hybrid work arrangements.
- Opportunities for remote work.
How to Apply
If you are excited about the prospect of building fun, fitness-focused experiences, we would love to hear from you. You can apply by submitting your resume, which should clearly highlight your accomplishments and technical background. While a cover letter is optional, we always enjoy reading about your personality and why you want to join our mission. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
