We are looking for a dedicated Associate Principal Application Architect to join our team on a full-time basis in Canada. In this senior role, you will serve as a primary technical leader within our IT department, helping to shape the future of our banking systems. You will work closely with our Director to define technical roadmaps, design comprehensive enterprise solutions, and provide expert guidance to our development teams. This is a hybrid position that requires a balance of high-level strategic thinking and hands-on technical involvement to ensure our infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and aligned with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end application architectures, ensuring that all solutions are well-documented and meet our rigorous non-functional requirements.
- Mentor and supervise senior developers and architects, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages technical excellence and professional growth across our functional teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to evolve our system architecture, specifically focusing on cloud-native applications, integration patterns, and modern banking standards.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred.
- Over 12 years of relevant IT experience, with at least five years in a senior technical lead role and a minimum of three years specifically as an Application or Solution Architect.
- Deep expertise in RESTful architecture, SOA, SOAP, Event Driven Architecture, and cloud-native design.
- Strong proficiency in modern development stacks including Java, Spring Boot, and API gateway patterns, as well as experience with both relational and NoSQL database design.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex technical projects, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
