Associate, Engineering at OneEnergy Renewables

Responsibilities

• Download and compile GIS layers into AutoCAD base maps for project sites.
• Interpret USGS, FEMA, NRCS soil surveys, wetlands inventories, ALTA surveys, and other data sources to assess site constraints and solar feasibility.
• Apply GIS and AutoCAD tools to incorporate geolocation into scaled layout drawings and analyze terrain for suitable slopes.
• Maintain drawing standards, format plots, and manage company AutoCAD template files.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to create and refine preliminary photovoltaic system layouts.
• Generate shape files and KMZ files to support project documentation.
• Adjust plans in coordination with development teams as site constraints change.
• Design and draft electrical single-line diagrams, including conductor and overcurrent protection sizing.
• Prepare civil, mechanical, or electrical details with guidance from engineering staff.
• Produce PVsyst energy production reports aligned with design assumptions.
• Review interconnection studies and integrate utility feedback into project designs.
• Coordinate with external civil, electrical, and geotechnical consultants under senior engineer direction.
• Build specialized knowledge or skills that strengthen the team’s overall capabilities.

Must-haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least three years of experience designing and drafting in AutoCAD, including work with layers, blocks, coordinate systems, dimensioning, and industry standards.
• Strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High attention to detail and proven capacity to manage multiple projects with integrity and organization.
• History of successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated approach with demonstrated initiative, ownership, and accountability.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• English language proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Map 3D.
• Experience with Google Earth or other mapping and GIS tools, plus use of federal, state, and county databases for land and environmental research.
• Working knowledge of project management and CRM software such as Salesforce.
