At OneEnergy we are working to make clean energy the leading source of electricity for homes and utilities across the country. Our team develops solar projects in the community, distributed-generation, and large utility-scale segments, supported by a broad pipeline and a multidisciplinary group that works from multiple locations nationwide.
About the Role
We are hiring an Associate, Engineering on a full-time basis. In this position you will take part in and help lead the design of utility-scale photovoltaic power plants, working closely with our Engineering and Development teams on a wide range of solar projects. The role calls for solid drafting ability, familiarity with land-development considerations, and a collaborative approach within a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile GIS data into AutoCAD base maps, interpret site constraints from USGS, FEMA, wetlands, and survey information, and apply GIS or Civil 3D tools to evaluate terrain and produce scaled layout drawings.
- Prepare electrical single-line diagrams, conductor and protection sizing, civil or mechanical details, and Pvsyst energy-production reports while coordinating with senior engineers and outside consultants.
- Maintain company drawing standards and templates, generate shape and KMZ files, and adjust designs as site conditions evolve during project development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- At least three years of AutoCAD design and drafting experience, including work with layers, blocks, coordinate systems, and industry standards; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Map 3D is helpful.
- Experience with Google Earth or similar mapping and GIS tools, plus comfort using public land and environmental databases.
- Strong quantitative, critical-thinking, and written and verbal communication skills, along with proven attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; experience with project-management tools and Salesforce is a plus.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and collaborative, with a demonstrated commitment to integrity and a constructive team environment.
