Associate Engineering Manager - Data Engineering at MiQ Digital

We are excited to invite you to join MiQ as an Associate Engineering Manager for our Data Engineering team. Our company is focused on building AiQ, a proprietary, cloud-only platform based on microservices. This platform powers our real-time and API-based integrations with buying platforms and supports our internal business operation products, including tools for campaign management, optimization, and visualization. We are constantly innovating to create new systems for both internal and external use, and we want you to help lead the way in designing our next generation of mar-tech solutions.

What you'll be doing

• You will translate complex business needs into clear technology requirements while working directly with product managers and customers to ensure our technical strategy aligns with business goals.
• You will provide hands-on technical leadership by designing and developing end-to-end software components, mentoring junior developers, and managing the performance and professional growth of your team members.
• You will champion high engineering standards by driving the adoption of agile and DevOps practices, ensuring code quality, and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies to keep our products competitive.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 8 years of experience bringing innovative products to market and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering. We are looking for someone who possesses the following qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: A strong grasp of at least one object-oriented language, deep knowledge of data structures and design patterns, and experience with distributed systems and event-based programming.
• Cloud and Architecture: Proven experience with cloud environments like AWS, along with a solid understanding of microservices, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS architectures.
• Full-Stack Familiarity: Experience building multi-tier web applications, including working knowledge of front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
• Leadership and Communication: A track record of managing teams, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across various functions.
• Operational Excellence: A commitment to agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and a passion for mentoring others to foster a culture of technical excellence.

Bonus points if you have experience with Apache Kafka, graph databases, or Gitflow.
