We are building something special at Chewy. We are launching a new Sponsored Advertising business designed to create a win-win ecosystem for pet parents and brand owners. By helping shoppers discover new products and allowing brands to reach their ideal audience, we are creating a critical revenue stream for our company. We are looking for an Associate Director, Sponsored Ads Engineering to join us at the ground floor and help shape the future of our advertising technology.
Role at a glance
This is a full-time, executive-level leadership role. You will be responsible for defining the technical strategy for our advertising systems, including search, discovery, and auction logic. While this position is based on-site, it offers the opportunity to influence our entire engineering organization. You must be fluent in English to collaborate effectively with our cross-functional teams.
Your impact
- Lead and manage the roadmap for large-scale, low-latency distributed systems that handle high volumes of data.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of software engineers and managers while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Drive technical decision-making by partnering with product management to prioritize engineering investments that align with our long-term business goals.
What you'll need
We are looking for a seasoned leader who understands how to build and scale complex systems. You should have at least 10 years of software development experience and 5 years in engineering management. You need a strong grasp of AWS and the ability to design high-throughput environments. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. If you have a background in machine learning, digital advertising, or ecommerce, you will be a great fit for our team.
