At Rocketship Public Schools, we believe in the infinite potential of every student. We are a non-profit network of public elementary charter schools dedicated to closing the achievement gap by propelling student success, fostering exceptional educators, and partnering with families to build thriving communities. We are currently seeking an Associate Director of School Leader Recruitment to join our team. This role is vital to our mission, as you will be responsible for identifying and securing the diverse, high-caliber leaders who will serve as our future Principals, Assistant Principals, and regional staff. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Recruitment and work as a strategic partner to our school and regional teams to ensure our leadership pipelines remain robust and equitable.
Key outcomes
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for leadership roles across all Rocketship regions, ensuring a positive and equitable candidate experience.
- Partner with regional leaders to forecast hiring needs, conduct succession planning, and execute effective outreach strategies.
- Design and refine competency-based selection processes, including interview questions and performance tasks, that align with our instructional model.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with external organizations to cultivate a diverse applicant pool.
- Utilize data to track recruitment metrics, evaluate hiring efficiency, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Train and coach hiring managers on best practices for both virtual and in-person interviewing.
- Oversee the internal recruitment process, including managing internal advertising and supporting the career growth of current staff.
- Facilitate recruitment events such as information sessions, job fairs, and interview days to promote our mission.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in urban K-12 education.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school leadership role, such as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, or Dean.
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and follow-through skills.
- A deep understanding of instructional practices and the ability to accurately assess a candidate's pedagogical skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Detail-oriented approach to designing scalable systems and hiring tools.
- Proficiency with search engines, job boards, and social networks for candidate sourcing.
- A deep commitment to our mission of eliminating the achievement gap and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, typically during the second half of the school year.
- Must be based in one of our active regions: Bay Area, CA; Nashville, TN; Milwaukee, WI; Washington, D.C.; or Fort Worth, TX.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous professional experience in Human Resources, talent acquisition, or human capital management.
