At Culture, our mission is to make bioprocess development and scale-up as seamless and efficient as scaling software. We enable biopharma, biotechnology, and synthetic biology companies to conduct their R&D in the cloud through our proprietary 250mL and 5L single-use bioreactor technology and our intuitive Console web application. By blending our expertise in biomanufacturing, engineering, and operations, we are building the future of the industry, fueled by a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and a relentless drive for results.
The role
We are seeking an Associate Director of Product to join our team in a full-time, executive-level capacity. This is a hybrid position that offers the flexibility of remote work with the expectation of being on-site as needed, alongside approximately 25% travel. You will take ownership of our entire portfolio of upstream bioprocessing equipment, including our hardware, software, and single-use consumables, as you lead initiatives to drive adoption, increase profitability, and manage the full product lifecycle.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end commercialization of new products by coordinating cross-functional teams across R&D, operations, marketing, and commercial departments.
- Develop and execute a long-term product roadmap based on market research, voice of customer data, and strategic financial modeling.
- Manage the performance and positioning of our product line to meet revenue and margin targets while proactively planning feature releases to maintain a competitive edge.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a strategic leader who brings a deep understanding of the biotechnology landscape. Your qualifications should include:
- A BS degree in Science or Engineering, with an MBA, MS, or PhD preferred.
- Over 10 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in product management, R&D, or market development.
- Proven experience with hardware, software, and consumables, ideally within protein therapeutics or viral vector production.
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to build models and interpret P&L statements.
- A solid grasp of customer workflows, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to listen actively and present complex ideas clearly.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $245,000. Final offers are determined based on your unique expertise and background. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
- Equity compensation for all full-time team members.
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
- A 401k plan with company matching.
- Generous paid time off policies.
- Commuter benefits to support your hybrid work schedule.
