The opportunity
We are looking for an Associate Director, Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our regional and school leadership teams. In this role, you will drive organizational effectiveness and cultivate a high-performing, inclusive culture. You will operate with high autonomy, making independent decisions that strengthen our leadership capacity and drive long-term talent outcomes. Reporting to the Regional Executive Director with a dotted line to the Director of People, you will act as a critical bridge between our school sites and the national People Team to ensure operational excellence and alignment with our core values.
A day in the life
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to school leaders by translating our mission into actionable people plans that boost engagement, retention, and performance.
- Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters with urgency and fairness, while coaching managers through performance management and organizational change.
- Collaborate weekly with the recruitment team to analyze hiring progress, share regional insights, and ensure our talent pipelines remain robust and effective.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with at least 8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a multi-site organization. You possess a deep commitment to our mission and demonstrate the following:
- Expertise in employee relations, organizational development, and change management.
- The ability to influence without authority and build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong critical thinking skills with a proven track record of making autonomous, values-aligned decisions in complex environments.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, and an advanced degree or HR certification like PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP is preferred.
- Fluency in English.
