The role
We are seeking an Associate Data Engineer Intern to join our technology organization. This is a senior-level internship opportunity that operates on a hybrid basis, requiring you to work onsite at our Dallas, Texas office one to two days per week. You will play a key role in building and maintaining the data pipelines that power our reporting and analytics, working alongside experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges.
Core responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders and senior engineering staff to translate complex data requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines that move information from SQL Server and other sources into our Snowflake database.
- Implement ETL processes using tools like Prophecy and DBT to structure data into meaningful facts and dimension tables.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in data engineering concepts and a genuine desire to learn. We look for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Practical experience building data processing and transformation solutions using SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with ETL technologies such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or notebook-based environments.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to resolve complex data-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team setting.
- Bonus points for familiarity with Snowflake, SSRS, or broader Azure data platform services.
