At Oscar, we are reimagining the health insurance experience from the ground up. Since 2012, we have been building a company that functions like a doctor in the family, using a full-stack technology platform to provide care that is truly centered on our members. We are currently looking for an Associate, Data Analytics to join our Network team in Los Angeles. If you are passionate about using data to solve complex problems and want to help us make healthcare more transparent and efficient, we would love to meet you.
The opportunity
As an Associate, Data Analytics, you will serve as a key partner across our organization, helping us identify and manage business inefficiencies. You will work closely with the Network and Contracting teams to scope, analyze, and monitor performance metrics that drive our company goals. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys independently driving analytical projects, defining key business questions, and translating complex data into actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders. You will report directly to our Group Product Manager for the Network team, operating in a hybrid environment that balances collaborative in-office days with the flexibility to manage your own schedule.
A day in the life
- You will build and maintain reporting dashboards and business performance KPIs to provide transparency into our Network technology and operational processes.
- You will analyze large datasets to help our contracting teams make data-driven decisions, effectively telling the story of our operations from initial provider contact to directory inclusion.
- You will collaborate with our Engineering team and various stakeholders to identify opportunities for new models and tools that remove inefficiencies and improve our healthcare delivery.
Who you are
You are a mid-level professional with a background in healthcare, finance, or insurance, and you possess a systematic approach to solving problems. You are comfortable communicating complex findings to leadership and have a proven ability to distill large datasets into clear, compelling narratives. Your technical toolkit should include the following:
- At least 3 years of experience in technical roles involving analytical reporting.
- Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to build CTEs and perform complex aggregations, or strong skills in Python or R.
- Advanced experience with Google Sheets or Excel, specifically with nested logic and connected sheets.
- A track record of presenting analytical projects to Director-level leadership or higher.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a competitive annual base salary ranging from $98,400 to $129,150, along with eligibility for annual performance bonuses. Beyond the paycheck, we are committed to your well-being and professional growth. You will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Life and disability insurance coverage.
- A 401(k) retirement plan.
- An unlimited vacation program to ensure you have the time you need to recharge.
- Paid time off, including 11 holidays, sick time, and parental leave.
- A supportive hybrid work culture that values your authentic self and unique perspective.
