Associate 2D Game Artist at A Thinking Ape

We’re looking for a junior Associate 2D Game Artist to create high-quality event art for Party in My Dorm, a social strategy mobile game with a college theme that blends casual chat features with deep co-op raids, trade economies, and narrative systems for hundreds of thousands of engaged players.

Responsibilities

• Produce reference materials and 2D art assets for recurring game events from initial concept through final delivery.
• Present event concepts to cross-functional stakeholders, using player feedback, performance data, and pop-culture research to shape creative direction.
• Collaborate daily with Creative, Game Design, Community, and Product teams to keep all work aligned with creative briefs and the overall game vision.
• Review outsourced assets, provide clear feedback, and apply final polish so every deliverable meets established quality and style standards.

Must-haves

• A 2D art portfolio that shows creativity, versatility, and solid fundamentals in human anatomy, character design, and colour theory.
• Hands-on experience creating 2D game art assets, preferably within a live-ops or mobile studio setting.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong time-management skills that let you plan ahead, mitigate production risks, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and experience working across multiple teams.
• Comfort giving and receiving constructive feedback and using it to improve results.
• Genuine interest in fashion and pop-culture trends.
• Fluency in English.
