What you bring
We are seeking a senior-level Assistant Chief Operating Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Chief Operating Engineer to oversee our engineering departments, manage mechanical preventive maintenance, and lead our maintenance personnel. You will serve as a key technical and administrative resource for the team, ensuring our systems run safely and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and directing maintenance staff to ensure all service requests are handled promptly and with minimal disruption to our facilities.
- Developing the capabilities of our operations team through consistent training and hands-on supervision.
- Managing the preventative maintenance program, which includes scheduling tasks, maintaining inventory, and ordering necessary parts and equipment.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you should have a strong technical background in engineering, maintenance, and electrical systems. We require a high school diploma or GED, along with at least five years of related work experience. Preference is given to candidates with prior supervisory experience and an Operating Engineers license. You must also hold a Universal Technician certification for CFCs, or be prepared to obtain it within 90 days of starting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, as is a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required to effectively coordinate with staff and stakeholders.
