We are RXR, a vertically integrated investment manager based in New York with a national platform. Our team of over 450 professionals manages a diverse portfolio that includes rental housing, commercial properties, and real estate credit. We are currently looking for a Senior Assistant Chief Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will support the Chief Engineer in maintaining the mechanical systems at Starrett Lehigh, ensuring our facility operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to oversee union tradesmen and evaluate contractor performance to ensure all building operations meet our standards.
- Manage the scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance, tenant work orders, and emergency repairs while maintaining accurate purchase orders and payroll records.
- Monitor critical building infrastructure, including HVAC systems, cooling towers, and life safety equipment, while ensuring all work complies with labor regulations and building codes.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess a strong technical background and the ability to manage complex building systems. We require the following qualifications:
- At least five years of relevant experience in building engineering.
- Current certifications including the Q01/Q99 Refrigerating System Operating Engineer license, S12 and S13 Certificates of Fitness, and EPA Section 608 Universal CFC Certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, building management systems, and work order management software.
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to obtaining additional FDNY certificates of fitness within two years of hire, as outlined in our collective bargaining agreement.
