At our core, we are driven by the belief that Bitcoin should be fast, affordable, and accessible to everyone across the globe. We spend our days pushing the boundaries of what is possible within the Bitcoin ecosystem, focusing specifically on the design and evolution of the Taproot Assets Protocol. Our team is deeply embedded in the open source community, and we take pride in building the infrastructure that will define the future of decentralized finance. We are looking for a passionate engineer to join our mission and help us build the next generation of cryptocurrency technology.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Assets Protocol Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our engineering efforts, focusing on the development and refinement of the Taproot Assets Protocol. You will work closely with our team to design new features, maintain our peer-to-peer daemons, and contribute to the broader research that shapes the future of Bitcoin. This is an ideal position for someone who loves deep technical challenges and wants to make a tangible impact on the world of open source cryptocurrency.
A day in the life
- You will design and implement core features and algorithms for the Taproot Assets Protocol.
- You will contribute directly to our mission-critical, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency daemons, which are primarily written in Go.
- You will collaborate with our wider team on research, issue triage, and code reviews while engaging with the community regarding our technology.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with a deep technical background and a strong passion for Bitcoin. You communicate fluently in English and have a proven ability to learn quickly and take ownership of complex projects. Your background includes the following:
- Strong proficiency in Go, though experience with C or C++ is also highly valued.
- A solid grasp of distributed systems, peer-to-peer networking, and applied cryptography.
- Experience working with Bitcoin protocols, financial software, or previous contributions to open source projects.
- A commitment to rigorous engineering practices, including thorough testing and documentation.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in building a team that can work from anywhere in the world, which is why this role is fully remote. You will have the chance to work on high-impact, open source software that is shaping the future of the Bitcoin network alongside a team of dedicated experts.
