The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior AS/400 Administrator to join us on a contract basis. In this role, you will be the backbone of our infrastructure, ensuring our systems remain secure, performant, and reliable. You will play a critical part in our engineering efforts, acting as the primary point of contact for system maintenance, upgrades, and complex troubleshooting. This position is perfect for a seasoned professional who enjoys working in a hybrid environment and wants to apply their technical skills to help us deliver exceptional solutions for our clients.

A day in the life

• You will take charge of our AS/400 environment, managing everything from Apache server configurations and operating system upgrades to routine patching and disk space optimization.
• You will collaborate with our broader engineering team to resolve complex technical issues, utilizing ServiceNow for incident and change management while leveraging your expertise in CL programming and SQL to automate and streamline our daily operations.
• You will oversee critical infrastructure tasks, including Global Mirror replication, BRMS backup management, and hardware support, ensuring that our systems are always resilient and ready to support our business needs.

Who you are

You are a seasoned AS/400 professional who thrives in complex, mixed-platform environments. You have a deep understanding of network administration and security, and you are comfortable managing the full lifecycle of system applications and hardware. You communicate clearly in English, and you have a proven track record of solving difficult problems under pressure. Your technical toolkit includes:

• Extensive experience with AS/400 administration and VIOS management.
• Proficiency in CL programming and SQL for database and system tasks.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, Apache, and MQ Series.
• A proactive mindset toward system security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
