At Thuma, we believe that simplicity is the ultimate luxury. As a modern design company, we focus on creating furniture and home goods where every detail matters, because we know that good design is a form of hospitality. Our team operates out of a historic space in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco, where we foster a culture of kindness, equity, and belonging. We are looking for a creative spirit to join our Brand Creative team and help us tell our story through every campaign and touchpoint.
The opportunity
We are searching for a Junior Art Director to join our fast-paced, collaborative studio. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the entire creative lifecycle, from initial concept development and pre-production planning to the final execution of stills and video assets. You will work closely with our team to maintain our brand standards while evolving our visual identity. This position is perfect for someone with a sharp visual eye who wants to be hands-on with the work and grow alongside a brand that values thoughtful, intentional design.
A day in the life
- Partner with the Art Director to brainstorm and develop creative concepts for upcoming campaigns and brand content.
- Support production efforts by organizing shoot logistics, creating mood boards, and ensuring all marketing requirements are met on set.
- Manage post-production workflows by providing clear direction for retouching and conducting quality control to ensure every asset reflects our high standards.
Who you are
You are a curious, self-directed creative with 1 to 3 years of on-set experience. You bring a strong portfolio that demonstrates your talent for typography, layout, and composition. You are comfortable navigating a startup environment and are eager to experiment with new tools, including AI, to enhance your workflow. You possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, along with familiarity in Figma.
- A solid understanding of the full production process, including pre-production planning and post-production execution.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
- A genuine interest in current fashion, design, and cultural trends.
- Fluency in English.
