At Alto, we are transforming the investment landscape by enabling everyday investors to utilize their tax-advantaged retirement funds for non-traditional assets like startups, real estate, and cryptocurrency. As a rapidly growing fintech startup founded in 2015, we are looking for an Architect to join our remote-first team and help us build the next generation of financial tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership by advising on technology selections, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the engineering team maintains high standards.
- Design and review code to create scalable, future-proof services that align with our long-term technical strategy.
- Maintain a hands-on approach, typically dedicating 70% of your time to architectural design and 30% to active coding tasks.
- Mentor and guide engineers to foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into an effective engineering roadmap.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.
Must-haves
- Over 15 years of engineering experience, ideally featuring a blend of startup and large-company environments.
- Proficiency in Golang, PHP, Elixir, or Java.
- Deep expertise in microservices, third-party integrations, SSO, IAM, and multitenancy.
- Proven experience working with AWS infrastructure.
- A strong background in software architecture, design, and development.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
