The role

We are seeking an Executive Architect to join our team in China on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a high-impact leadership position designed for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in high-growth, large-scale environments. You will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of our big data platform, creating modular and extensible technologies that serve as the foundation for all our products. You will work at the intersection of strategy and engineering, ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable and future-proof.

Core responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy by developing forward-looking architecture and serving as a thought leader who pushes the boundaries of our current capabilities.
• Lead and mentor our senior engineering talent, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth within our China-based team.
• Collaborate across stakeholders by translating complex business requirements into actionable designs and influencing executive leadership to solve challenging, cross-functional problems.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and the ability to navigate ambiguity with ease. We require the following qualifications:

• An MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years specifically in SaaS or enterprise architecture.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems, web services, and real-time data processing.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Druid, Hadoop, Kafka, or ClickHouse.
• Proficiency in C++, Rust, Scala, or Golang.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem, along with experience using cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
