Why We Have This Role
We are looking for Applied Scientist I to bring our Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence R&D and strategy to the next level. Our goal is to personalize the Qualtrics experience using ML and AI features showcasing Qualtrics data as a core value proposition and competitive advantage.

How You’ll Grow
Qualtrics is a fast paced, dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to build on and expand your experience through working on high impact projects, utilising cutting edge tools and technologies, troubleshooting challenging problems and working alongside like minded and driven technical professionals.
Things You’ll Do
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to research, implement, evaluate, optimize, productize and maintain cutting-edge machine learning models to meet the demands of our rapidly growing business
- Stay on top of the latest developments in machine learning and related research, and present research findings with the broader community
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from other specialists, engineers, and product managers
- Lead and engage in design reviews, modelling discussions, requirement definitions and other technical activities in diverse capacity
- Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
- Master’s or other advanced degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering with experience in at least one of the following fields:

- Natural language processing: text labeling and classification, text understanding, question answering, dialogue systems, entity extraction and reasoning, knowledge graph, etc.
- Time series modelling: forecasting, anomaly detection
- Machine learning: deep learning, distributed machine learning, large-scale optimization, Bayesian probabilistic inference
- Data mining: information extraction, recommender systems, knowledge/pattern discovery, anomaly/churn detection
- Computer vision: image classification, object detection, segmentation
- Experience with ML and deep learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, Scikit-Learn, etc.)
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
What You Should Know About This Team
The Data Intelligence Center of Excellence (DICE) organization provides AI/ML research and development services for all product lines. This team builds core machine learning infrastructure and services.
