Are you ready to shape the next generation of agentic systems that power investment decisions for the world’s largest asset managers?
What you bring
We are looking for a senior Applied Research Engineer to join our Agents team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. In this role you will combine cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing with the practical demands of high-stakes finance workflows. You will work with Python, foundation models, and search technologies to build production-grade systems that deliver reliable, explainable insights at massive scale. Three core responsibilities include running experiments that turn novel LLM techniques into customer-facing capabilities, iterating on validation and testing frameworks that keep our models accurate and efficient, and collaborating with software engineers to embed agentic features into existing products. The position is located in the United States and is tagged with Artificial Intelligence, Finance, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Python, NLP, Search Technologies, Statistical Analysis, Foundation Models, LLM, and Software Development.
Requirements
You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and a master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, or a related discipline is viewed favorably. You bring at least seven years of software-development experience at a venture-backed startup or leading technology firm, with a clear focus on applied machine-learning systems. Strong Python skills are essential, along with hands-on experience using NLP and text-processing libraries such as NLTK, SpaCy, or Apache Tika, as well as search and indexing technologies. You are proficient in machine-learning techniques and algorithms, comfortable working with foundation-model APIs, and knowledgeable in statistical analysis and data-scraping methods. Prior success developing NLP models and systems is required, and experience prompting or building LLM applications and agents is a plus. The ideal candidate pairs excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with strong communication and teamwork skills, and demonstrates a consistent ability to translate research into reliable, production-ready software.
What we offer
The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $300,000. In addition to competitive pay, we provide unlimited vacation, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, a 401k plan, paid time off, and equity compensation. Daily catered lunch and DoorDash dinner credits for late nights are also part of the package, along with generous parental-leave benefits and a lifetime fertility benefit of $15,000.
How to Apply
If this opportunity aligns with your experience and ambitions, we encourage you to apply and help us continue building indispensable AI systems for the world’s most demanding investors and bankers.
