The role

We are looking for a Senior Applied Machine Learning Intern to join our team in our Paris office. This is a full-time, on-site position designed as a pre-hire opportunity, as our primary goal is to transition successful interns into permanent, full-time roles. You will work closely with our engineering team to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality recommendations that impact millions of users globally.

Core responsibilities

• Explore diverse datasets to identify patterns and develop effective machine learning solutions.
• Train, tune, and optimize models to ensure our customers receive the most accurate and relevant recommendations possible.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our core recommendation platform by refining our tech stack and improving model performance.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in machine learning and software engineering. We require the following qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python along with the NumPy and pandas libraries.
• Strong data-oriented problem-solving skills, including experience with data visualization, feature extraction, and model tuning.
• A deep understanding of machine learning concepts such as regularization, gradient descent, optimization techniques, and objective functions.
• Experience with feature engineering, including pre-processing, tokenization, and the use of pre-trained embeddings.
• Full professional proficiency in English, as it is our primary language for all internal communication.

While not required, we would love to see experience with recommender systems, software development best practices like git and design patterns, or previous professional experience in machine learning and customer-facing roles.
