We are Hebbia, and we are building the user interface for AGI. Our goal is to create AI that works the way you do, capable of handling complex tasks while citing every source it uses. By allowing users to see the work behind every answer, we empower people to collaborate with AI rather than just trusting it. We are on a mission to put capable AI into the hands of one billion people by 2030, and we are looking for a Staff Applied AI Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in our New York City office.
Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of agentic capabilities across our product suite by bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical application.
- Design and execute experiments and proofs of concept that apply the latest advancements in LLMs to solve high-value problems for our customers.
- Partner directly with foundation model providers to beta test new features, evaluate model strengths, and refine our core natural language processing systems.
Requirements
This is an executive-level role that requires deep technical expertise and a hands-on approach to software development. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and translate research into production-grade systems.
- At least 7 years of software development experience, ideally at a venture-backed startup or a leading technology firm, with a focus on applied machine learning.
- Strong proficiency in Python and extensive experience with NLP, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analysis.
- A solid background in working with foundation models and building LLM-enabled applications.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, while a Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Participation in our company equity plan.
- 401k retirement benefits.
