Are you ready to help shape the future of scientific discovery and engineering innovation? At Liquid Instruments, we build software-defined instrumentation that empowers scientists, engineers, and students to push the boundaries of what is possible. Our company was founded by a team of experts from the Australian National University and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory who originally developed technology to measure gravitational waves. Today, we bring that same high-speed digital signal processing expertise to test and measurement platforms that combine the power of FPGAs with intuitive user interfaces. We are looking for a passionate individual to join our growing team and help our users unlock the full potential of our technology.
What you bring
We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join us in a full-time capacity. Based on-site in either the United States or Australia, you will act as a key technical resource for our global user base. Your role will bridge the gap between our complex engineering solutions and the practical needs of our customers. You will utilize your expertise in Python, Matlab, and C/C++ to ensure our users succeed in their experimental goals.
- Provide expert front-line technical support to troubleshoot inquiries and resolve challenges for our global customer base.
- Collaborate with the sales team during pre-sales engagements to develop unique technical solutions for prospective clients.
- Create high-quality technical documentation, including application notes and manuals, to improve the overall user experience.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You should hold an advanced degree, such as an M.S. or Ph.D., in Electrical Engineering, Experimental Physics, or a related field. We value candidates who possess at least three years of hands-on laboratory experience and have a strong background in technical support or sales. You must be fluent in English and demonstrate excellent communication skills, as you will frequently interact with users from diverse technical backgrounds. A high level of proficiency in programming languages like Python, Matlab, or C/C++ is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who is organized, diligent in tracking support tickets, and comfortable working across different time zones to keep our team in sync.
What we offer
We believe in rewarding our team members for their contributions to our mission. We provide a competitive salary and the following benefits to support your well-being and professional growth.
- Comprehensive medical and dental insurance coverage with 100% of premiums paid for employees.
- Equity compensation to give you a stake in our collective success.
- A 401k plan that includes a company match.
- Generous paid time off, including four weeks of vacation, plus sick time and holidays.
- The opportunity to work from home when appropriate and the necessary equipment to succeed.
How to Apply
If you are excited about the prospect of working with cutting-edge instrumentation and supporting a global community of innovators, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team, and let us know how your background in engineering and customer support aligns with our vision at Liquid Instruments.
