At DCS, we have been crafting custom material handling and warehouse solutions since 1982. We believe that the best results come from true collaboration, which is why we focus on building deep relationships with our clients rather than simply selling off-the-shelf systems. Our team is a group of dedicated problem solvers who thrive on turning complex concepts into reality, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us continue this tradition of excellence.
The opportunity
As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between initial concepts and fully functional systems. You will serve as the technical backbone for our project teams, working alongside Sales, Systems Engineers, and Estimators to design material handling equipment that perfectly aligns with our clients' needs. This is a remote position where you will have the autonomy to lead individual opportunities while reporting to our Applications Engineering Manager. Your ability to provide creative, technical solutions will be essential as we continue to deliver custom-crafted systems that drive efficiency for our partners.
A day in the life
- You will translate project goals into detailed, functioning designs using CAD software while ensuring all equipment specifications meet the unique requirements of our clients.
- You will act as a technical liaison for the Sales team, providing equipment functionality reports and supporting the preparation of integration solution proposals.
- You will collaborate with suppliers to review their designs and proposals, ensuring every component complies with our high standards and project bid requirements.
Who you are
We are looking for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to our team. You should be a self-motivated professional who can thrive with minimal supervision, even when facing aggressive project deadlines. Your background should include:
- A degree in a technical discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in designing material handling systems for distribution centers, fulfillment operations, or parcel systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software and a solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and multidisciplinary teams in English.
Why you'll love it here
We are committed to fostering a family-like culture that values both hard work and personal well-being. When you join our team, you will enjoy a supportive environment that prioritizes your growth and financial future. Our benefits include:
- Comprehensive 401k retirement planning with a 100% match up to 5%.
- Participation in our profit sharing program.
- The flexibility and freedom of a remote work environment.
