About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Application Security Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security quality of our game consoles and peripheral firmware by implementing the Secure Development Lifecycle. Your work will directly impact the safety and security of the entire PlayStation ecosystem, ensuring that our users and partners can enjoy our products with peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Secure Development Lifecycle process across all phases of development, including design reviews and risk analysis.
- Perform comprehensive source code reviews and execute security testing, such as fuzzing and penetration testing.
- Collaborate with international development teams to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We require the following qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in Secure Development Lifecycle activities, such as risk analysis, security design reviews, code reviews, penetration testing, or static analysis.
- Alternatively, at least two years of experience in C or C++ embedded systems development.
- Proficiency in Japanese at a level equivalent to JLPT N1.
- A willingness to communicate and collaborate in English, with a strong desire to continue improving your language skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to balance business requirements, costs, and technical constraints.
- Experience or knowledge in areas such as cryptography, CI/CD environments, cloud services, or authentication and authorization is highly valued.

This position is based in Japan.
