Application Security Engineer at GuidePoint Security

We are currently looking for a mid-level Application Security Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Responsibilities

• Execute client SAST, DAST, and SCA tool assessments, analyze the resulting data, and provide actionable security recommendations.
• Integrate security tools directly into development pipelines and ticketing systems to streamline workflows.
• Apply your expertise to identify, analyze, and mitigate a wide range of application security vulnerabilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess 2 to 3 years of experience in Application Security. We are looking for candidates who have a strong grasp of the Secure Development Lifecycle and experience remediating technical vulnerabilities. You should be comfortable working with IDEs and CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.

Additional qualifications include:

• Proficiency with manual testing tools, specifically Burp Suite Pro.
• Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, and SCA tools, with a preference for those familiar with Invicti or Checkmarx.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security issues to clients clearly.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Security is preferred, as are relevant industry certifications.
• Experience reviewing source code in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, PHP, C++, or C# is considered a plus.
