We are looking for a Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team and help protect the innovative technology behind Physna and Thangs. As a Series B startup backed by firms like Sequoia Capital and Google Ventures, we use geometric deep learning to connect physical objects with digital code, and we need your expertise to keep our systems secure as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard our technology systems and protect our internal information and reputation.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve the security of our products and services.
- Perform threat modeling and application security risk assessments.
- Manage vulnerability assessments and conduct static and dynamic code analysis.
- Implement and maintain strong security controls within our CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify and mitigate security risks through proactive analysis.
- Operate autonomously within our fast-paced startup environment.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Math/Statistics.
- At least 3 years of dedicated experience in application security engineering.
- A total of 5 years of experience across areas like secure coding, exploitation paths, identity management, and software development.
- Deep technical knowledge of Google Cloud architecture, React, and Node.js.
- Proficiency with modern security testing tools and vulnerability management.
- Strong analytical abilities to track key risk indicators.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience designing and implementing robust authentication layers.
- Background in building automation between various security tools and systems.
- Ability to perform deep analytics on aggregated log data.
- Familiarity with enterprise security controls and cloud security best practices.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and source control management.
