About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer for a full-time position. In this role, you will be a key player in protecting our customers by ensuring our advanced energy products meet the highest security and privacy standards. You will help define our security architecture, conduct complex system assessments, and build a fresh security strategy for our evolving product lines. This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the largest AWS IoT deployments and utilize cutting-edge cloud technologies like AWS Lambda.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive product and application security strategy for our core services and offerings.
• Conduct thorough security reviews, including threat modeling, design evaluations, and code assessments for our most critical systems.
• Provide guidance on security architecture while mentoring staff on secure development practices and risk mitigation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• An MS in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in software or application security, specifically involving threat modeling, secure SDLC, cryptography, and security code reviews.
• Deep expertise in security engineering and security protocols.
• At least 2 years of experience effectively communicating technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Location

This position is available remotely, with the potential to be based in Austin, TX, Bellevue, WA, or the Bay Area, CA.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay for this position ranges from $139,000 to $243,000 per year, depending on your specific skills, location, and experience. We are committed to the well-being of our team members and offer a competitive benefits package that includes:
