At Staffbase, we believe in the power of inspirational communication to help organizations thrive in the Narrative Age. We provide award-winning channels like intranets, employee apps, and email to help our 2,200 plus customers transform their employee experience. With over 750 employees from more than 45 nationalities, we are a rapidly scaling company that recently secured $115 million in Series E funding. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our international team in Chemnitz, Germany.
What is this role?
We are looking for an Application Development Specialist to join us as an apprentice starting in August 2025. This is a full-time, on-site position designed for a student or someone early in their career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in software engineering. You will work directly with our team in Chemnitz to build modern software solutions while developing your technical skills in a professional, dynamic environment.
What will you do?
- You will dive into application development using a variety of languages and tools, including Java, Kotlin, Go, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- You will participate in the full lifecycle of software creation, from designing and implementing features to performing error analysis and building automated tests to ensure high quality.
- You will collaborate within an interdisciplinary team using Scrum methodologies, taking on responsibility for specific software projects as you grow into the role.
What makes you a great fit?
We are looking for someone with a strong desire to learn and a genuine passion for coding. You should have a completed school education, and we welcome applications from those who have gained programming experience through personal projects, internships, or even those who have previously started a degree. You should be curious about new technologies and eager to turn your ideas into reality. Because we operate in an international setting, you must have strong German and English language skills. We value team players who are motivated, proactive, and ready to contribute to a diverse workplace.
What's in it for you?
- A steep learning curve where you are treated as a full team member, gaining practical experience and increasing responsibility over time.
- Access to weekly on-site sports offerings, such as fitness sessions.
- Regular team-building activities and company-wide events, including our annual Staffbase Camp.
- A generous 30 days of annual vacation, plus the added benefit of having every Friday in August off with full pay.
- One paid day per year dedicated to volunteer work, supported by a company donation to your chosen organization.
- A referral bonus program for successfully recommending new full-time team members.
