At Databento, we are building the future of financial data access through our modern API platform. We are a Series A startup that has successfully raised nearly $30 million, and we have seen our revenue grow by over 958% year over year. Despite this rapid expansion, we remain a lean, agile team of fewer than 30 people. We are currently looking for an API Platform Engineer to join us in a full-time, remote capacity. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on our technical trajectory while working from anywhere in the world.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Partner closely with our product and design teams to create and launch innovative features for our web applications.
- Oversee database schema updates and migrations to ensure our systems remain robust and scalable.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for building reliable systems. You should have at least one year of full-time professional experience, ideally within a high-growth startup or a fintech environment. Your technical toolkit should include:
- Deep proficiency in Python development.
- Hands-on experience with modern web APIs and frameworks, such as FastAPI.
- A solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing both relational and NoSQL database systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, distributed remote team.
