What is this role?
We are seeking a Mid-Level Android Software Engineer to join our Point of Sale team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in Pune, where you will balance your time between working from home and collaborating with your team in the office. You will play a vital role in maintaining and evolving our suite of over 12 Point of Sale applications, which are used by merchants worldwide to process transactions and manage their businesses.
What will you do?
- Develop and maintain high-performance Android applications that power our Point of Sale experience on dedicated hardware devices.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver features that streamline sales, inventory, and transaction management for our customers.
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to ensure our software remains reliable and responsive in real-world retail environments.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in Android development using Kotlin or Java. You should be comfortable working with Android fundamentals and modern development tools. Specifically, we are looking for the following:
- Strong knowledge of Android architecture, including activities, fragments, and view binding.
- Experience with modern libraries such as Jetpack, Coroutines, ROOM, and Retrofit.
- A solid understanding of RESTful APIs and network operations.
- Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaborative workflows.
- Strong communication skills in English.
