Android Software Engineer at Verily

Verily, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is dedicated to transforming how healthcare is delivered through a data-driven approach. Since our launch from Google X in 2015, we have focused on bringing the promise of precision health to everyone by activating data from clinical, social, and behavioral sources. We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Android Software Engineer to join our mobile apps team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will help bridge the gap between research and care by contributing to our flagship consumer product, which provides warm and personalized experiences for our users.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain essential user-facing features for our core Android applications while exploring opportunities for cross-platform development.
• Engage in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality output.
• Work in close partnership with mobile, backend, and frontend engineering teams, as well as UX, product, and quality assurance partners, to deliver impactful and regulated software.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundation in computer science and a passion for building high-quality mobile experiences. Your qualifications should include:

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in Android mobile development, including internships.
• Proficiency in Kotlin for native app development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with or a strong interest in modern frameworks like Jetpack Compose, automated testing, and user-centric design.

What we offer

The base salary range for this position is $106,000 - $150,000, which is determined based on your specific work location, skills, and experience. In addition to base compensation, we provide:
