About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Android Mobile Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping our long-term mobile strategy by contributing to the development of the FARFETCH Android application. You will be responsible for writing high-quality Kotlin code, implementing sophisticated design patterns, and delivering an elegant, user-friendly experience for our customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new features while ensuring high product quality from start to finish.
- Collaborate across teams to build and maintain common libraries that support our mobile infrastructure.
- Champion best practices in Android development and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Android development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, with additional knowledge of Java considered a plus.
- Solid understanding of REST API architecture and the connection between client-side development and backend stacks.
- A deep interest in technical optimization, including memory management, UI rendering, and network performance.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Location
This position is based in our vibrant office in Porto, Portugal, and operates under a hybrid work model.
