Android QA Engineer at ExpressVPN

We are looking for a Senior Android QA Engineer to join our engineering team in Singapore. Key outcomes

• Review new features with developers to provide proactive testing advice.
• Design and implement automated end-to-end test scenarios specifically for the Android platform.
• Conduct thorough impact analyses to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
• Expand our overall testing coverage and contribute to automation traceability metrics.
• Guide the development team on integrating automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish quality metrics and best practices while developing new tools to meet our delivery goals.
• Identify, document, and track bugs through to final resolution.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends to ensure all components are built for optimal testability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 3 years focused on testing and automating Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Espresso and UIAutomator test frameworks.
• Solid foundational programming skills in Kotlin.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Android SDK.
• Proven ability to develop and execute detailed test plans, scripts, and procedures.
• Analytical mindset capable of improving testability and identifying root causes for technical issues.
• Experience supporting product management with user story refinement and the definition of acceptance criteria.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience utilizing Google Cloud Firebase for the execution of automated tests.
