About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join us on a contractor basis. In this position, you will play a vital role in the ongoing development and maintenance of two of our most prominent brands, WorldStar HipHop and Amino. You will work alongside a talented, distributed team to ensure these platforms continue to provide high-quality experiences for our users.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end development, testing, and maintenance lifecycle for both the WorldStar HipHop and Amino applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and team leads to deliver new features on schedule while maintaining high engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve bugs, and focus on optimizing application performance to improve the overall user experience.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- At least 4 years of professional experience in native Android development.
- Strong proficiency in both Java and Kotlin.
- Deep familiarity with core Android tools, including Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
- Experience with common libraries like Jetpack, Compose, Retrofit, and Firebase.
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools and a track record of having published at least one application to the Play Store.
- A degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred, though not strictly required.
- Excellent communication skills and a self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
