About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will become an expert in the technologies that power our most visible features, including mapping, communication, and safety tools. You will be a key contributor to the architecture and design of our next-generation systems, working within a remote-first environment that encourages innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, design, data science, and back-end engineering to build impactful features.
- Design and maintain robust Android frameworks using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM patterns.
- Develop foundational automation workflows to improve our product quality, reliability, and testing efficiency.
Requirements
We are seeking candidates who possess a strong technical foundation and a passion for building high-quality mobile experiences. You should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Expert knowledge of the Android ecosystem, specifically Kotlin and modern framework APIs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex, non-reproducible issues.
- A solid architecture mindset, with experience in designing testable codebases and prototyping new solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, as you will be working with various internal teams and occasionally external partners.
- A commitment to mentorship and code quality, including conducting reviews and helping junior team members grow.
Location
This is a remote position. As a remote-first company, we welcome applicants from anywhere within the US and Canada.
Compensation and Benefits
For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this role is 107,000 to 149,000 USD. For candidates based in Canada, the salary range is 125,500 to 140,000 CAD. Final compensation is determined based on your unique background, geographic location, and experience.
