We are dru, the first lifestyle and health management application serving the Middle East and Africa. Our platform is powered by Almouneer, the region’s leading digital transformation entity, and is designed to empower individuals managing diabetes, obesity, or those simply pursuing a healthier lifestyle. We provide our users with comprehensive tools for tracking blood sugar and blood pressure, managing medical records, and connecting with continuous glucose monitoring devices. By combining a 360-degree view of health with 24/7 access to a dedicated medical support team, we are transforming how patients interact with their wellness journeys. We are looking for an Android Engineer to join our team in Egypt on a full-time, on-site basis to help us push the boundaries of mobile health technology.

Key outcomes

• Design and develop advanced Android applications while ensuring the codebase remains robust and easy to maintain.
• Partner with our UX and UI design team to transform wireframes and prototypes into intuitive, high-quality mobile interfaces.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure our applications remain fast and efficient.
• Perform thorough code reviews and write comprehensive unit tests to uphold our standards for reliability and stability.
• Manage our codebase using version control systems like Git to facilitate seamless team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot and fix technical issues or bugs to maintain a smooth user experience.
• Collaborate across departments with backend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Document our codebase, features, and development processes to ensure long-term project success.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in Android development, supported by a strong portfolio of published applications.
• Deep proficiency in the Kotlin programming language.
• A comprehensive understanding of Android development principles, design patterns, and platform guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with Android Studio, Gradle, and other essential development tools.
• Proven ability to integrate RESTful APIs and manage data from various backend sources.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI and UX standards and the ability to build visually engaging interfaces.
• Expertise in mobile application performance optimization.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working in a team environment.
• Fluency in English.
