The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our Risk team. This role is central to our mission, as you will be building the systems that keep our platform safe and ensure every user has a positive experience. You will work on complex challenges, such as developing tools for content moderation and creating data-driven solutions to detect and mitigate bad behavior. As we prepare for our next phase of growth, you will have the autonomy to make high-impact decisions and the responsibility to ship high-quality features that protect our community. This position is on-site at one of our hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York City.

A day in the life

• Design and implement robust Android features that allow our internal teams to effectively moderate content and mitigate platform issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to solve complex system problems, ensuring our infrastructure scales seamlessly as our user base grows.
• Write clean, efficient code using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to deliver a fluid and responsive experience for our users.

Who you are

You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You possess a low-ego approach to collaboration and a strong sense of ownership over your work. We are looking for someone who brings at least five years of full-time software engineering experience and the following qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep expertise in Android development, specifically with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Strong proficiency in reactive programming patterns, particularly MVVM or MVI architectures.
• A natural product instinct that allows you to translate user needs into effective, scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a desire to foster an inclusive, supportive team culture.
